Scotland defender Alan Hutton expects his club-mate Shay Given to start for the Republic of Ireland against Scotland this weekend.
The 39-year old goalkeeper, who is set to win his 130th cap in the Euro2016 qualifier in Dublin on Saturday, has forced his way back into the Villa line-up to also reclaim the No 1 spot with Ireland.
Hutton said: "I wouldn't be surprised at all if Shay plays. I'm presuming he will.
"He's been in the Villa team all the time recently and has great experience.
"He's been there and done it for Ireland so I don't see why he wouldn't play.
"He's a good shot-stopper and very commanding. He's always talking and that's great for us when you're out on the pitch.
"I won't give the strikers any tips on weaknesses or anything. I'll leave the finishing to them."
