Scotland boss Strachan will 'look after' Celtic stars

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has eased the fears of Celtic fans ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 clash with Juventus on February 12.

Four Hoops stars have been selected for Strachan's first Scotland squad for next week's friendly with Estonia but the new boss says Parkhead manager Neil Lennon trusts him implicitly with his players.

"I think we would all agree that Celtic doing well in Europe can help everybody in Scottish football," he said after picking Scott Brown, Charlie Mulgrew, James Forrest and Kris Commons.

"I have spoken to Neil Lennon about that.

"He said to pick the guys I want. He trusts me to look after them, to do the right thing for Scotland and Celtic.

"I have free rein to do whatever I think is right.

"I have never interfered with international managers when I was a club manager because I know the players want to go."
