Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari had a big say in John Terry winning the England captaincy yesterday, it has been revealed.
That support paid off yesterday when Capello named Terry as skipper ahead of bookies' favourite Rio Ferdinand.
A close pal of Scolari told The Sun: "Felipe has learnt a lot about Terry in the last few weeks.
"He knows how much the England captaincy means to him - that's why he spoke with Capello.
"He told Capello that Terry is a natural leader and someone who other big players at Chelsea react well to and respect."
