Palmeiras coach Luiz Felipe Scolari admits he tried to sign Adriano for Chelsea.
The AS Roma striker is being linked with Palmeiras after falling foul of club directors this week.
Scolari would love to sign Adriano and revealed: "I wanted to bring him to London when I was coaching Chelsea, but I failed to do so.
"Too bad, because his history says he's a player who scores goals wherever he plays."
