Schwarzer hopes Fulham chairman Al Fayed backs Hodgson in market

Mark Schwarzer hopes Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is handed a healthy transfer kitty this summer.

Schwarzer urged Mohammed Al Fayed - who sold his Harrods business for £1.5billion last week - to give Hodgson some serious financial backing.

The goalkeeper said: "Let's hope the chairman might spend some of the money he's got. He has done a fantastic job for the club. In the three years I've been here, his involvement and interaction is fantastic.

"He is the best chairman I have ever worked under. He is a right character but a very generous man."
