Schwarzer: Cech can make Arsenal champions

Leicester City goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer is urging Chelsea fans not to jeer Petr Cech tomorrow at Wembley.

The Arsenal keeper will face his former club in the Community Shield on Sunday.

“I had the privilege to work with Petr for 18 months and got a bit of an insight into how and why he's been at the top level of the game for such a long period of time," Schwarzer told talkSPORT.

“He's a fantastic person and an unbelievable professional and I hope all the Chelsea fans do give him a really warm welcome on Sunday - he was a fantastic servant for Chelsea."

The Aussie added: “I think he'll be a huge player for Arsenal this season and could really make a huge difference for them.

“They aren't far off [being genuine title contenders] now - the goalkeeping position was one that everyone spoke about for so many years for the club.

“Now they've got a player who is proven - he spent ten years at the top at Chelsea , has won everything there possibly is to win and is so experienced."
