Real Madrid's board are split over the future of defender Fabio Cannavaro.

Several Real directors believe they should cash in on the Italian, who despite being 33 still carries a big price-tag.

However, Bernd Schuster, who is expected to be named new Real coach on Monday, has already told president Ramon Calderon he can work with Cannavaro and would prefer he stays for next season.
