Scholes excited as Man Utd get into business end of season

Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes feels the start of the elimination phase of the Champions League signifies the season run-in for clubs still a chance of winning silverware.

As always, United are in with a chance for a few trophies this season and Scholes says it is time to really bring out the consistency and get positive results as the business end of the season kicks off.

"It's the sign for the run-in," said Scholes of the Champions League resumption. "It just kind of happens without you knowing it.

"You know there are 12 games left in the league, the FA Cup is getting down to the latter stages and Europe is starting again.

"Every game becomes more important. It is the time to stand up and start playing."

United meet Marseille in the Round of 16 of Europe's premier club competition next week but before that must navigate their way past non-league Crawley Town in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Saturday.
