Scholes: Chelsea just 2 signings away from title challenger

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes Chelsea are now securing momentum under manager Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea are also favourites to win the Europa League and face Slavia Prague in the quarter finals, with the first leg in the Czech Republic on Thursday (8pm).

Asked if Chelsea are gaining momentum and making progress, Scholes told Premier League Productions: “Yes I think they are.

“They had a really good start to the season don't forget, it just was the middle bit where they struggled a bit.

“I think there's a team there that are capable, with one or two signings, that can possibly challenge for the league.

“The only problem they will have, can they keep Hazard? It doesn't look like that's going to be possible.

“I think they have a problem at centre forward as well.

“Since Diego Costa they haven't really found a replacement, [Gonzalo] Higuain looks like he's struggling, [Olivier] Giroud doesn't play a lot.

“That's a position they'll probably need to address."
