Schalke star Raul has confirmed he could have signed with Blackburn Rovers this season.
The former Real Madrid star had already given his word that he would sign for Schalke and would not let them down.
Raul said: "My agent received calls from foreign clubs after I announced I would leave Real but I prefer to forget about that. I am happy at Schalke.
"Michel Salgado is a big friend of mine and it's true Blackburn wanted my services.
"But my promise was already with Schalke and I am a person who always fulfils his promises.
"The Premier League was very attractive. Many times English clubs were interested but it was never possible to get the deal done.
"Perhaps now my chance to play in England has gone."
