Lewis Holtby could be back at Schalke just 12 months after leaving the Veltins-Arena for Tottenham.
The 23-year old midfielder departed the Germans to join Spurs in January 2013 but after featuring just 12 times for the north London club this season, a loan deal for the rest of the term with the Royal Blues is now on the cards.
Holtby is keen to play more regularly as he strives to force his way into Germany's squad for this summer's World Cup and his agent Marcus Noack hinted at the possibility of a Schalke return.
"Lewis is desperate to play, which is why we are looking intensively for solutions," Noack told Bild. "Schalke is an interesting option."
