Schalke release Kabak from preseason as Crystal Palace, Newcaste make contact

Schalke defender Ozan Kabak isn't short of offers as he prepares to leave the relegated outfit.

Kabak spent the second-half of last season on-loan with Liverpool and has been made available by S04 this summer.

In the Reds shirt, Kabak managed 13 appearances, though didn't do enough to convince Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to recommend his permanent signing. Kabak also made Turkey's Euro 2020 squad, however never made the pitch. He has 12 caps.

BILD via Fussball Transfers says Rennes are keen on his signing, along with Premier League trio Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.

Kabak has been excused by Schalke from preseason training this week in order to sort out his future. Schalke are seeking €15m to sell the Turkey international.

The 21 year-old Kabak has a contract with S04 to 2024, however following their relegation both parties have agreed he should depart this summer.
