Schalke manager Christian Heidel says they remain hopeful of keeping hold of Leroy Sane.

The Germany midfielder is the subject of offers from Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday between Schalke officials and Sane's representatives to consider the situation.

"Today, I assume he will stay," says Heidel.

"But, for me, many things have been mentioned in the media. We wait. It is important that we plan for the different scenarios that could occur."
