Huddersfield Town captain Christopher Schindler is seen as a target for German side Schalke.

David Wagner, who left Huddersfield this season, is now the manager at the Bundesliga club.

It appears that he has an interest in taking the 29-year-old club captain to Germany, according to Bild.

The centre-back, who helped Huddersfield gain promotion to the Premier League a few years ago, would be available for an affordable fee given their relegation.

But it is unclear if Schindler would be willing to leave, as he does have a contract until 2021, with the club having an option of extending it by a year.
