Schalke have cut short their two-season loan deal with Barcelona for Juan Miranda.

After a difficult first season in Germany, Miranda is being sent back to Barca by S04.

The Bundesliga outfit stated: "FC Barcelona and Schalke 04 have reached an agreement not to make effective the second season of loan of player Juan Miranda, who will return to the Barça discipline in the coming days."

Miranda posted a farewell message to S04 fans this morning: "I would like to show my gratitude and say that I am very proud to have been part of S04. It has been my first year as a professional, my first year outside of Spain but I have felt at home thanks to all the people who are part of this awesome club.

"One more miner."
