Jermaine Jones and Edgar Castillo have expressed their interest in becoming eligible for the US national team.
Schalke 04 midfielder Jones is keen to switch allegiances to the US from Germany (where he was born) and is close to achieving this according to US Soccer Federation president Sunil Gulati.
"Jones, I believe all the paperwork is already submitted for a change of eligibility,'' Gulati said.
On the other hand, Tigres defender Castillo is keen to swap Mexico for the US.
"I don't know for sure if all the paperwork has been formally submitted for Edgar," Gulati added.
"I met him in Boston when he was there with Santos. His views as we've had them expressed directly from the player are he'd prefer to play for us. (After Oct. 2) it's up to Bob Bradley for when he wants to bring him in for a look and possible participation with the U.S. team.''
