Robbie Savage believes former Leicester City teammate Roberto Mancini will be a success at Manchester City.
Savage admits conflicting emotions after seeing Mancini succeed Mark Hughes as City manager.
He wrote in his column for the Mirror: "Roberto Mancini is back in the country but I doubt he will need my services as his English teacher anymore.
"When the legendary Italian striker arrived at Leicester in 2001, I took him under my wing and showed him around.
"We even roomed together on away trips and I fondly remember he introduced me to pasta.
"I went out of my way to help him settle in and took him on a couple of nights out.
"And now of course I am pleased to see him back in the Premier League - but the circumstances are very awkward for me as his predecessor Mark Hughes is also a friend.
"I played for Sparky and his excellent backroom staff at Blackburn and Wales.
"And I really feel for Sparky. I think it is completely wrong what has happened to Mark, who is a fantastic manager and fantastic guy.
"So I wish I wasn't talking about Roberto being City's next manager, even though I know he will do a good job and be a huge success."
