Saudi Arabia want Ronaldo AND Messi signed to local clubs in 2023

Saudi Arabia football chiefs are planning to sign Cristiano Ronaldo AND Lionel Messi for their league in 2023.

Sport says Ronaldo has already received a multi-million dollar proposal from Saudi Al Nasr and negotiations are advanced, while Saudi football also wants to speak with the Argentina forward after the World Cup, although there has already been contact.

Ronaldo's abrupt departure from Manchester United may have a lot to do with the offer now on the table. It is not ruled out that he could play six months at Newcastle, on loan as they have Saudi owners, but the goal is for him to go to Al Nasr to finish his career. There is talk of figures of more than €200 million net for two seasons.

That is not all. Saudi Arabia will also go after PSG star Messi to boost their league. In fact, the Argentine star has already signed a contract as Saudi Arabia's tourism ambassador for astronomical figures. The figure has not been leaked but could be more than $100 million for five years. And then he would have the option of playing in the country with a net salary that is unattainable for any club in the world.

The president of the Federation of Saudi Arabia, Yasser Al-Misehal, has already acknowledged in Argentine newspaper La Nación that they are going to try with Messi: "We want to talk about this, about signing for a Saudi team, after the World Cup."
