Hull City's latest attempt to change their name to Hull Tigers faces a vote when the Football Association Council meet on Saturday, reports BBC Sport.
The club tried to enforce the change in April 2014 but were blocked by the FA Council.
Owner Assem Allam said he will sell Hull if the change does not happen.
Allam, who has faced protests from the club's fans over the issue, is convinced that rebranding the club is the only way to bring new investment in from overseas markets.
