Santos president Marcelo Teixeria convinced Man City's Robinho wants return

Santos president Marcelo Teixeria is convinced they can bring Manchester City star Robinho back to the Brazilian club.

Teixeira says that he had a 90-minute meeting with the Brazilian star when he returned to his home for a holiday last week. And he revealed that Robinho told him that he would even accept a move back to his hometown club if they could find the cash to agree a deal with City.

Teixeira said: "Robinho asked me to suggest to him what he does now with his career.

"He is unhappy at Manchester City and has even expressed an interest in returning to Santos. We spoke about this, but he knows that it would be a difficult project because of the costs involved.

"Ronaldo and Adriano have both returned to play in Brazil and Robinho wanted to know whether it was practical for him to do the same.

"It seems unlikely, but I did discuss with him other possibilities for the next step of his career."
