Brendon Santalab netted for the third time since joining Chinese Super League club Chengdu Blades. The former Sydney FC and North Queensland Fury (without an appearance) striker netted an important goal in the 81st minute as Chengdu overcame second-placed Henan Jianye 3-2.
After goals from Blades pair Wang Song (15th minute) and Zou Yougen (54th minute), Henan's Xu Yang hit back in the 68th minute to give his team some hope.
But that hope was squashed by Santalab who made it 3-1 with nine minutes remaining before Wang Bo made it 3-2 three minutes later,
The win put Chengdu to 13th on the table whilst Henan dropped to third after the loss.
