Roque Santa Cruz insists Blackburn Rovers' players are enjoying preseason under new gaffer Paul Ince.

Brad Friedel and David Bentley have been sold and Santa Cruz himself has been linked with Manchester United, City, Spurs and Arsenal.

But the Paraguayan striker told The Sun: "There's a time where you are getting to know each other.

"We are trying to understand what the new manager wants and is trying to bring into the team.

"It will be an interesting season after the moves going on here.

"We need to prove we can continue without some players who were key last season."
