Sandro has been cut loose by Genoa.

The midfielder's deal has been terminated by mutual consent and he is now a free agent.

"Last summer the directors told me to look for another club, since I was no longer part of their plans," he told Globo Esporte.

“It was towards the end of the market and I didn't accept any offers. They wanted me to leave, but I had two more years left on my contract and I told them I would stay.

“In the meantime, though, I've always been told the same thing, namely that I'd never have played: therefore, in the end, we opted for a termination.

“I don't know why Genoa acted the way they did, it was all very strange..."

The former Tottenham star added: “Now I'm available to listen to any offer that comes my way.

“I've been in Europe for 10 years, but if someone from Brazil was to call me then l'd be happy to return.

“I want to show that I'm still an excellent player."
