MLS club San Jose Earthquakes announced the recipients of the team's end-of-season awards Wednesday night prior to their match against Chivas USA.
Forward and league MVP candidate Chris Wondolowski took home the team's Most Valuable Player award, while Jon Busch was named Defensive Player of the Year and Jason Hernandez was recognized as the MLS W.O.R.K.S. Humanitarian of the Year.
Wondolowski went on to net a hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Chivas USA to celebrate his award. His treble allowed him to join LA Galaxy's Edson Buddle at the top of the goalscoring list on 17 goals.
