Sampdoria are in talks with Everton striker Samuel Eto'o.

The Daily Star Sunday says the Cameroon star, 33, has been a success at Goodison Park this season and is popular among team-mates - but he is keen to start more games.

Valencia have also shown an interest in the hitman and the problem for Sampdoria will be matching his £2.3million salary.

The former Inter Milan and Barcelona hitman signed a two-year deal with the Blues in the summer after spending last season at Chelsea.
