Sampdoria are eyeing West Brom striker Georgios Samaras.
The Greece international is available after being cut loose by the Baggies earlier this summer.
Sportitalia says Samp are moving for Samaras as a replacement for Stefano Okaka, who has just signed for Anderlecht this week.
Samaras has also been linked with a move to Australia, where Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City are keen.
Samp president Massimo Ferrero is confident they can meet Samaras' personal demands should coach Walter Zenga give his approval to the deal.
