Sampdoria coach Walter Mazzarri has launched a no-holds barred attack on Inter Milan counterpart Jose Mourinho after their Coppa Italia semifinal victory this week.
"It's lucky these games are seen by millions of fans and critics, because Mourinho gave a completely distorted view of what happened," snapped Mazzarri on Sky Italia television.
"Sampdoria went to San Siro and took control, played the ball to feet, creating three chances and were only denied an opener by their goalkeeper before Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored.
"Perhaps he wanted to move the attention away from their negative performance and was not eager to give credit to my team.
"Those who saw the match realised Sampdoria played football, Inter were in trouble and couldn't get anything done. They ended up scrambling long balls forward to the strikers in the hope of creating something."
Mazzarri continued his tirade by pointing out that the Nerazzurri are almost entirely based on individual talents and not tactics.
"When you have a squad of such quality it's only normal that many Coaches could've won the Scudetto, not just me," said the Samp boss.
"In the past Mourinho also trained sides whose quality was a step above the rest, so even if they didn't play well or even worse than their opponents, they still tended to win 1-0.
"In the long run that is what makes the difference. It seems fairly obvious to me."
