Sampdoria coach Gigi del Neri is proud to have led his team to the top of the table.

"I have in hand a team that plays well and this makes us hope for the future," Del Neri told Radio Anch'io Sport.

"The club and the players are the basis of everything. We have youngsters of great quality who give strength to our ideas.

"We are happy, but in football you always need to be aware and travel calmly without pressure. We are working well, the support is red hot and there are all the conditions for us to have a great season," Del Neri explained.

"There is a tendency to improve. It's important to win, but the teams like Samp, Genoa and Lazio have to work with great attention. To close the gap with the big clubs we need teamwork and to maintain our concentration."
