Sampdoria coach D'Aversa delighted with character shown for victory over Salernitana

Sampdoria coach Roberto D'Aversa was delighted with the character of his players for victory over Salernitana.

A Francesco Di Tacchio own goal and Antonio Candreva's effort saw Samp win 2-0.

“We needed real men to win this game, and everybody put in a great performance," D'Aversa told DAZN.

“This victory means a lot. We've been working really well in the last few weeks. Nobody wanted to concede a goal and you could see everyone's commitment on the pitch.

“We were so good and I want to thank the club for their support," D'Aversa continued.

“This victory is for the President and for the fans."
