Sampdoria sports chief Carlo Osti says Maya Yoshida will be stronger for last night's debut.

The on-loan Southampton defender featured in defeat to Napoli.

Osti remarked afterwards: "I think they are all ready. Yoshida will have to get used to a different championship, even if he has a great experience, both in the national team and with a club team.

"Our (Italian) market, as regards to defenders, is very difficult."

Yoshida's deal with Samp includes a permanent option.
