Wayne Routledge admits it was a very easy decision to sign a new deal with Swansea City.
The 29-year old winger penned a one-year extension on Thursday which lengthens his stay at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2018.
Routledge, who joined the Swans from Newcastle United in August 2011, was contracted until 2017 but now gets the chance to spend an extra 12 months in south Wales which he has met with plenty of positivity.
"It was a simple decision for me," Routledge told the club's official website. "Once I found out about the option to extend it was a no-brainer.
"I'm happy to have that extra year at the club. This club is on the up and we are going places.
"We have two new brilliant training facilities, a lovely stadium and a manager and staff who are prepared to put in a lot of hard work and effort to get us where we all want to be.
"It's the whole package, and it's a good fit.
"I came here when the club just got into the Premier League and it's been a great journey so far.
"We've grown and grown, and I still think we are growing."
