Round: Cup win proof of improving Everton depth

After their thumping of Carling Cup opponents Hull City, Everton No2 Steve Round says their squad depth is now coming to the fore.

"I think the confidence is starting to flow back," Round told evertonTV. "I think confidence comes from a series of results and I think over the last week with the performances we've seen, the goals we've scored, the clean sheets, we're showing signs that we're really starting to emerge again as a very, very good team.

"We've not got a big squad but we've got quite a senior and a strong squad now, which we've built over the years that David Moyes has been manager. I think you saw that tonight. Tim Cahill didn't start, Marouane Fellaini didn't start, Louis Saha didn't start, Joseph Yobo, Steven Pienaar. But players came in and we're really starting to get that strength in depth which you need when you're competing on four fronts."
