Rossi urges calm after Lazio suffer AC Milan thrashing

Lazio coach Delio Rossi insists there's no reason to panic after last night's 4-1 thrashing at AC Milan.

"It is certainly not pleasing to lose. After a shaky first 10 minutes, we found our balance and the third goal really did it, as if you leave space to these opponents then they will punish you," he said of the 4-1 loss to Milan.

"There were mistakes, but we were facing a team with such quality. We have to work and we knew that even before this game.

"In the critical moments when we pushed forward and took some risks, we always seemed to concede.

"We always try to play football and came here without courage, even a bit of healthy arrogance, so these are risks you take when trying to win."

The Biancocelesti were leading the standings with a 100 per cent record and are still in third place behind Inter and Juventus.

"Lazio decided to change many players and open a new era. This is just the beginning and we weren't world beaters before this game, nor are we disaster areas now," reasoned Rossi.

"We've hardly got time to cry over spilt milk anyway, as there is another game coming up on Wednesday."
