Ross County hoping Ferguson and Fletcher are present when Man Utd visit

Ross County chairman Roy MacGregor hopes Sir Alex Ferguson and Darren Fletcher are both present when Manchester United come to town this summer.

The English champions have agreed to play the Staggies in a friendly at Victoria Park on July 20 and MacGregor said the occasion would be even more special if retired manager Ferguson and ill Scottish midfielder Fletcher were there on the day.

"This is a great coup," he said.

"We don't yet know if Sir Alex himself will attend, now that he has retired, but George will no doubt be in discussions with him.

"It would be lovely if Darren Fletcher was here, as I think we have all been moved by his recovery from illness."

United are also set to play the A-League All-Stars in Sydney on July 20 but will split their squad between the two friendlies.
