Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will welcome Europa League football next season.

Rooney feels it's important United are in Europe next season.

"Yes I think so. You want to be playing in the Champions League but it's important to finish as high up the table as you can and, if that means playing in the Europa League, then so be it.

"It's a difficult tournament [to win] so if we qualify for it we'll have to make sure we're ready for that."
