The Englishman is just one goal shy of moving to joint third place in the club's all-time top scorers list - a feat he would surely love to achieve against Liverpool.

A double against Brendan Rodgers' men would see Rooney over the line, with his tally of 210 goals in 433 appearances putting him just behind Jack Rowley (211 in 424) in the standings.
