Ronaldo warns Real Madrid coach Zidane over Marcelo plan: Don't do it

Real Madrid's top brass risk upsetting the locker room with a plan for Marcelo.

Diario Gol says Real coach Zinedine Zidane wants to 'rest' Marcelo in the coming games in order to give Theo Hernandez a first team run.

Zidane's plans have reached the Brazilian, who has immediately complained to teammate and good friend Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has already relayed Marcelo's concerns to Zidane and also offered his opinion - "Marcelo must be untouchable". As much as he has been impressed by Theo in training, Ronaldo has argued that now is not the time to withdraw Marcelo from the front line.

For his part, Marcelo is frustrated, believing he has done nothing to warrant any doubts from Zidane.

However, in Zidane's corner is president Florentino Perez, who is anxious about the team's renewal and eager to see Theo given a first team chance after all the politicking that came with prising the left-back away from Atletico Madrid in the summer.
