Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo admits he'd like to again play with former Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney. Ronaldo does not believe Rooney has improved considerably over the past few months, insisting that he has always been a vital member of the United team.

"It doesn't impress me because I know the quality Rooney has. He was always brilliant when I played with him," the Portuguese forward said on Sky Sports News.

"I played with him for three or four years and he was always brilliant, not just this season.

"This season he has played very well and scored many goals but he is still the same player. He is fantastic and a winner."

Ronaldo accepts that he may never line up alongside Rooney again but he would relish the chance to renew their deadly partnership.

"I hope to play with him again some day," he stated. "I don't know if this is possible but I am really happy for him and for all the players at Manchester."
