Tottenham defender Cristian Romero has wrote off their title chances.

The Argentina international feels the team isn't ready to compete with the Premier League's heavyweights.

He said, "To win trophies you have to meet many requirements, having the right coach and players is not enough. We need time and patience to win something, or at least to compete against teams like Manchester City and Liverpool, who are the best in the Premier League.

“They are the teams to beat, but the same goes for our club and our president, who are laying the foundations and one day we will push them to the maximum.

"Even if we are not yet ready to win this season, we are on the right path and we just have to move forward."
