Romelu Lukaku says he wants to bring European football back to Everton.

Lukaku and Everton have kicked off the season impressively.

He told evertonfc.com: “What you want to achieve and what you want to do in football is down to yourself and if you want to be good at what you do then you have to work for it. We, as a team, have a lot of potential but, at a certain time, you have to show the potential.

“People will not be as patient anymore and I think for us now it's time to show our quality and what we can do.

“For me, European football, it's like it's all I know. From when I was 16, I always played European football and to be in the Europa League in my second year here was brilliant. I really enjoyed those nights and those experiences and I know the fans did, too.

“As a team, as Everton Football Club, you need to try to at least achieve European football and that's something that we haven't done for this season.

“I'm a striker, goals are the most important thing and I'm going to do everything in my power to help and to prove that I can be the missing link for my team to make sure we don't have that disappointment again.

“The start of the season was not great for me but, now that I'm 100 per cent fit, I can be at my best and deliver."
