Roma's Brazilian-born midfielder Rodrigo Taddei has ruled out turning out for Italy.
"My Roma teammates who play for Italy asked me if I would consider wearing the Azzurri jersey, but I'd prefer not to," he told Sky Italia.
"International football isn't something you undertake lightly and it's a question of respect. It wouldn't feel right for me to wear someone else's national shirt.
"It wouldn't be fair for me to take a place away from someone who was actually fully Italian.
"I'd rather wait and hope that one day I get a call from the Selecao."
