Spanish defender Roman Golobart is already pressing for a senior breakthrough at Wigan Athletic.

The Daily Mail says Latics boss Roberto Martinez swooped for Golobart from Espanyol in the summer, signing the centre-back up on a one-year deal.

The 17 year-old has a commanding presence in defence and would do well in a Kevin Pietersen look-a-like competition, such is his resemblance to the England cricketer.
