Roma turns attentions to Champions League glory - Cassetti

After a stirring Roman derby win over Lazio on the weekend, Roma now have their sights set on achieving European glory.

Defender Marco Cassetti believes improved performances in the Serie A are also a must to gain momentum.

"The group is close-knit and we are working well," Cassetti enthused on Sky Sport Italia.

"Now we must keep taking each game as it comes and not to look to the future too much.

"We will see what we can achieve if we can put together a run of wins, but we will only take stock at the end of the season.

"When the results aren't coming, the players inevitably get affected by a little bit of underlying tension and it becomes a vicious cycle." Roma caused an upset of sorts in their most recent Champions League by defeating Chelsea 3-1; a win Cassetti said relieved much pressure.

"After the win against Chelsea the road to qualification isn't as uphill as it was," Cassetti asserted.

"I think we are one of two candidates to get through but there are two tough games left. Obviously we are hoping for first place, but second would be fine."
