Roma are interested in Wolfsburg midfielder Makoto Hasebe.

The Japan international has attracted a firm approach from Roma about his situation ahead of the summer market.

Hasebe's agent, Simone Canovi, told LaRoma.it: "The player is out of contract with Wolfsburg and for now we have not talked about renewing.

"Obviously there's a lot of interest, besides the fact that he is a player who can be taken on a free transfer, he is also an international.

"I can say that the Serie A fascinates him."
