AS Roma signing Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is delighted with his move from Newcastle United.
The Frenchman has joined Roma on a season-long loan.
"I'm very happy to be here at Roma and to give something extra to the team," the 25 year-old said.
"The Coach knows me and I want to give everything to this club.
"I already knew Rudi Garcia when I was in France and he was one of the best, he convinced me to come here to Roma to win trophies and I have a great hunger for victory."
The former Montpellier title-winner also answered questions on the role he will play at the club and of his desire to get back into the French national team.
"I am at the disposal of the Coach and the team and if I have to play on the right [of defence] I will happily do it, but my best role is as a centre-back.
"Of course I would like to return to the national team and if I play regularly for a great club like Roma there will be a possibility of returning to the France squad."
