AS Roma signing Fernando Gago insists he never fell out with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.
Gago angered Real fans when declaring Barcelona were superior at the end of last season.
"I've never had any problems with Mou: When I arrived in Madrid everything went smoothly, we won a championship and then I was not available for some time, I suffered a major injury and lost the confidence of the coach," said Gago.
"It was claimed I said in an interview that Barcelona played better than us. I did not think such a statement could generate controversy. Real Madrid has proven they can play the same level as Barcelona."
