AS Roma's Riise keen on Liverpool homecoming

AS Roma defender John Arne Riise has indicated that he may be open to a Liverpool return if the chance ever occurs.

The 30-year old Norwegian left-back departed Anfield for Rome in 2008 after about six years on Merseyside and he has said that he may be interested in a homecoming sometime down the track.

Reports have suggested that the Reds are after a new left-back and Riise's name has been mentioned as one of the possible targets but he says he is staying with Roma until his current contract expires.

"I am flattered by reports linking me with a return to England," he told Sky Sports.

"Liverpool are close to my heart. They are a great club and I have some good memories. I have a contract here until June 2012, so you never know."
