Roma will rival Fiorentina for AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino in the summer.

Leggo says Roma's dismal defeat to Siena on Sunday has convinced directors that a quality centre-forward needs to be acquired next season - no matter what happens over the co-ownership of Lecce's Mirko Vucinic.

Gilardino is a confirmed target for Fiorentina, however Roma will also move for the centre-forward. Along with Gilardino, Ajax ace Klaas Jan Huntelaar is another that is interesting Roma chiefs Daniele Prade and Bruno Conti.
