Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo says he had to leave Inter Milan for the sake of his career.
Zaniolo famously was offloaded by Inter in a swap for Radja Nainggolan, now on-loan with Cagliari.
He said, “I left because I wanted to play in the first team, I thought it was over in the Primavera.
"I didn't expect to go to Roma, maybe a less important team.
"It was all by chance. I was out and about with my friends, my dad suddenly wrote to me telling me that I was going to Roma the next day, I left completely unaware and found myself in a top club."
