Roma midfielder Pellegrini happy to overcome impressive Verona

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini wants to improve his goalscoring after victory over Hellas Verona.

Roma won 3-1, with Pellegrini providing an assist for Justin Kluivert.

“I saw Justin making the run and we'd prepared that kind of pass in training. Justin did very well to score from that angle," Pellegrini told Roma TV.

“I congratulate Verona, because they are well-organised and play with intensity. They caused us a lot of problems, but we did well to win the game.

Verona's pressing is man for man, they really are aggressive, so we had to adjust our style a little. The most important thing about this squad now is that we give our all for each other. Perhaps that was missing in other years.

“Personally, giving assists is marvellous, but I'd be happy to score a goal too every now and then. I had the chance today, but hit it too hard into the ground. I hope to break that duck soon."
